Customer story: Kooner Fleet Management Solutions - FleetIQ, built on Roam by Boxworks

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions runs a mobile diesel repair network across the US and Canada on FleetIQ, its white-labelled edition of Roam by Boxworks. When one of North America's largest fleets asked for every repair to be documented and delivered automatically, FleetIQ automated job intake, connected Kooner FMS directly to the customer's own systems and put a guided, evidence-rich workflow in every technician's hands. Weekly volume more than tripled while customer standards kept rising.

Kooner FMS started in 2016 with one service truck. By 2023 it ran a mobile diesel repair network across multiple states, serving one of North America's largest fleets: a logistics operator running tens of thousands of trailers, tractors and vans across hundreds of sites, which manages its maintenance vendors through its own systems and weekly scorecards. It wanted every repair documented in line-item detail and delivered automatically.
Kooner FMS’ towing-dispatch software had been built for a smaller operation:
Jobs arrived through a third-party broker portal and were keyed in by hand.
Customers asked for up to 80 data points on every repair, and the old system couldn't capture most of them.
There were no repair codes, estimates or inspection checklists, and parts were named and priced by hand.
An inspection was recorded as photos and a line of free text.
Automated intake, 2023
Jobs created per month rose 71% in the next two months
Capacity the old way could never have staffed
At the pace jobs were keyed in by hand in 2023, today's volume would need about 40 people doing nothing but data entry: headcount Kooner FMS never had to add.
A daily data feed, every day for 13 months
Work orders reported to customers automatically, without a missed day
Wider scope as the data flowed
In a single year, tractor work grew 4.7× and the sites Kooner FMS served for its customer went from 174 to 400
Direct integration, 2025
FleetIQ passed the customer’s integration tests, piloted at a single site within the week, and was live across every site four weeks later.

Kooner FMS reported 599% three-year revenue growth, ranking No. 692 on the 2025 Inc. 5000

Roam ships with standard inspection workflows and takes on far heavier ones where customers specify them. Boxworks built an extended DOT trailer inspection into Roam’s field app. The table shows how much more each job captures over six months.
Weighted by standard work content, the measure workshops use, output per technician rose about 10% over the same period
Customer scorecards didn’t stand still while Kooner FMS grew. They measured more, in finer detail, against tighter targets.
Under the stricter scorecard:
Customer measuredMeasured by the customer on its own weekly vendor scorecards.Kooner FMS remains a strategic vendor and has recently beaten the network average on 9 of 10 repair-time measures.
Urgent repair times fell 40–50% for trailers and about 40% for tractors.
Kooner FMS’ management drove these results with coaching, metro-area technician clusters and regular reviews. FleetIQ supplied the measurement, controls and data they managed by.
